Ear nerve zaps plus custom music may quiet tinnitus

NCT ID NCT07469969

First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests if a new treatment—mild electrical stimulation of an ear nerve combined with personalized music—can reduce chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears) better than standard therapy. About 386 adults with bothersome tinnitus for at least 6 months will be randomly assigned to either the new combo or standard care. The goal is to see if the combo improves tinnitus-related quality of life more than usual treatment.
