ICU lung clot study: speed of blood thinners may save lives

NCT ID NCT06912009

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at how fast blood thinners start working in ICU patients with serious lung clots (pulmonary embolism). Researchers will review past records of 100 adults to measure the time it takes to reach effective levels and see if faster treatment reduces deaths, prevents new clots, or lowers bleeding risks. The goal is to improve how doctors start and monitor these life-saving drugs.
