First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests a structured conversation between emergency doctors and seriously ill older adults (or their family members) to improve shared decision-making about intensive care. About 40 participants will be involved, and researchers will measure how long the conversation takes and how acceptable patients find it. The goal is to see if this approach is feasible and helpful, not to directly treat or cure any disease.
