New 'Wiggle Rod' tested to heal broken legs faster

NCT ID NCT06976801

Summary

This study is testing if a new type of surgical rod that allows tiny, controlled movement at the break helps broken shin bones heal better than a standard, rigid rod. Researchers will randomly assign 372 adults with unstable tibia fractures to receive one of the two rod types. The main goal is to see which rod leads to more successful bone healing and fewer complications like infections or needing more surgery.
