Could watching small thyroid nodules prevent unnecessary surgeries?
NCT ID NCT07370675
Summary
This study is testing whether closely monitoring small thyroid nodules is a safe alternative to immediate surgery. Researchers will follow 165 adults with small nodules for up to 5 years to see if the nodules grow or require surgery. The goal is to help patients avoid surgery risks like voice changes, infection, and needing lifelong thyroid medication when it might not be necessary.
