New tests could spare thousands from unnecessary thyroid surgery

NCT ID NCT02681328

Summary

This study compares two molecular tests used to evaluate thyroid nodules that have unclear biopsy results. The goal is to determine which test is better at identifying which nodules are truly cancerous and which are benign, helping patients avoid surgery they don't need. Researchers will follow 328 patients to see how test results influence treatment decisions and quality of life.
