AI predicts success of heat therapy for thyroid lumps in major new study
NCT ID NCT06340945
First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looks at how well ultrasound-guided thermal ablation (using heat to shrink nodules) works for people with benign (non-cancerous) thyroid nodules. Researchers will also create an artificial intelligence model to predict treatment success. About 1500 adults who have symptoms or cosmetic concerns from their nodules, and who cannot or choose not to have surgery, will take part. The goal is to reduce nodule size and prevent regrowth.
