New tool aims to cut months off finding correct thyroid dose
NCT ID NCT06455371
Summary
This study is testing a new computer tool designed to help doctors find the right dose of thyroid replacement medication (levothyroxine) much faster for patients who have had their thyroid removed. The tool uses early blood test results to predict the best dose, aiming to get patients to their target hormone level quicker than the standard method of adjusting the dose every two months. Researchers will compare how quickly patients reach the right hormone level, how they feel, and their ability to return to work between the group using the new tool and the group following standard care.
