Hormone sprayed into lungs could ease breathing crisis

NCT ID NCT04115514

Summary

This study is testing whether a thyroid hormone (T3), delivered directly into the lungs, can help patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) breathe easier. It will involve 68 critically ill adults on breathing machines to see if the treatment is safe and improves how much oxygen gets into their blood. The goal is to ease a major symptom of this severe lung condition.
