Could watchful waiting replace surgery for tiny thyroid tumors?
NCT ID NCT02609685
Summary
This study aims to learn if it's safe to closely monitor very small thyroid cancers instead of having surgery right away. It will follow 216 people with these small tumors for up to 10 years to see if the cancer grows or spreads. The research also compares quality of life and anxiety between people who choose monitoring and those who choose immediate surgery.
