Less thyroid surgery, same cancer control? major trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07274605
Summary
This study aims to determine if a smaller, more conservative surgery is as effective as complete thyroid removal for treating certain low-risk thyroid cancers located in the middle of the gland. It will involve 520 adults with small, unspread tumors and directly compare cancer recurrence rates, quality of life, and surgical complications between the two approaches over three years. The goal is to provide clearer evidence to help patients and doctors choose the best surgical option.
