Could thyroid cancer scan prep affect breast tissue?
NCT ID NCT04495985
Summary
This study aims to understand why breast tissue sometimes shows up on radioactive iodine scans in women treated for thyroid cancer. Researchers are comparing two different preparation methods for the scan to see if one affects a specific hormone (prolactin) more, and if that hormone level is linked to how much iodine the breast tissue absorbs. The goal is to gather information, not to provide a new treatment.
