New drug combo targets tough thyroid cancers

Summary
This study is testing whether a combination of two drugs, avutometinib and defactinib, can help control advanced thyroid cancers that have specific genetic changes and have stopped responding to standard radioactive iodine treatment. The trial will enroll about 30 adults with two types of advanced thyroid cancer to see if the treatment is effective and safe. Researchers are looking to see if the drugs can shrink tumors and cause few or manageable side effects.
