Scientists test drug duo to stall tough thyroid cancer
NCT ID NCT02143726
Summary
This study is testing if combining two drugs, sorafenib and everolimus, works better than sorafenib alone to control a rare, aggressive form of thyroid cancer that no longer responds to standard radioactive iodine treatment. The trial will enroll about 35 adults to see if the drug combination can keep the cancer from growing for a longer time. Researchers will closely compare how long the cancer stays controlled and monitor side effects between the two treatment groups.
