Doctors study if watching small thyroid cancers is better than surgery

NCT ID NCT03271892

Summary

This study follows adults with small, low-risk thyroid cancers to understand their choices between two approaches: immediate surgery or active surveillance (close monitoring with the option for surgery later). Researchers track which option patients choose, their reasons, and measure how satisfied they are with their decision one year later. The goal is to learn about patient decision-making and outcomes when given these two management options.
