First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether thumbtack needles (a type of acupuncture) can improve ovarian function in 240 women aged 18-40 with diminished ovarian reserve (low egg supply). Participants received either real or sham needles, and researchers measured changes in hormone levels and egg count after 4 weeks. The goal was to see if this simple, low-cost treatment could help manage the condition.
