New oxygen technique aims to make sedated procedures safer

NCT ID NCT07487051

Summary

This study compared two ways of giving oxygen to patients during sedated stomach exams. Researchers wanted to see if a newer, high-flow oxygen system (THRIVE) was better than the standard nasal cannula at preventing low oxygen levels. They monitored 222 adult patients to see which method led to fewer breathing problems and less need for airway assistance during the procedure.
