Could a third MMR shot boost waning immunity in adults?
NCT ID NCT05923970
First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a third dose of the MMR vaccine can improve immune protection in women whose antibody levels have dropped below protective levels after the standard two doses. Researchers will measure both antibody and cell-mediated immune responses in 200 pregnant women in Alberta who have already received a third dose through routine care. The goal is to understand if an extra dose is beneficial, not to test a new treatment.
