First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding sodium thiosulfate to the fluid that keeps donated kidneys cold before transplant can help them work sooner. About 120 adults receiving a kidney from a deceased donor will take part. Half will get the additive; the other half standard care. The main goal is to see if fewer people need dialysis after transplant.
