New thin plate could reduce ankle surgery complications
NCT ID NCT07365202
First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at a new, thinner metal plate used to fix a common type of ankle fracture. Standard plates can cause skin problems or discomfort, sometimes needing a second surgery to remove them. The researchers want to see if this thinner plate helps bones heal with fewer skin issues and less need for later removal. About 40 adults who need this surgery will be followed for one year.
