New slim plate aims to heal ankle breaks with fewer problems

NCT ID NCT07365202

Summary

This study is looking at a new, thinner metal plate for fixing broken ankle bones. It aims to see if this plate causes fewer skin complications and less long-term discomfort than standard thicker plates, which could mean patients don't need a second surgery to have it removed. The researchers will review the medical records of 40 patients who have already had this specific plate implanted to check how well their bones healed and if they had any problems.
