First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study compares a minimally invasive heat-based treatment (thermal ablation) with standard surgery for people with small, low-risk papillary thyroid cancer. About 3,700 adults aged 18–80 with tumors 2 cm or smaller will be followed for at least a year. Researchers will also develop an artificial intelligence model to predict which patients benefit most from the heat procedure.
