New therapy aims to help veterans heal from moral wounds of war
NCT ID NCT03760731
Summary
This study tested a new group therapy program designed to help warzone veterans who are struggling with moral injury—the emotional pain that can follow events that violate one's moral beliefs. The research involved 74 veterans who participated in either the new therapy or a comparison therapy to see if the approach was acceptable and practical. The goal was to help veterans learn skills to manage difficult moral emotions and live more consistently with their values, rather than focusing on eliminating symptoms.
