First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at whether having a therapy dog present can lower pain and anxiety in children ages 3 to 10 who are having pins removed from their elbow after a fracture. Researchers measured pain using a faces scale and anxiety with a behavior scale. The goal was to see if the dog's company makes the procedure less scary and uncomfortable.
