First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether Therapeutic Touch—a gentle, non-invasive hand technique—can improve comfort, behavior, and vital signs like heart rate and breathing in premature babies. About 62 preterm infants in the NICU will either receive the touch therapy or standard care for 5 days. The goal is to see if this simple, drug-free approach can help these fragile newborns feel more at ease and stable.
