New theranostic drugs aim to find and treat brain metastases in one go
NCT ID NCT07178938
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 40 times
Summary
This study tests a new approach for people with solid tumors (like breast cancer) that have spread to the brain. The drugs used are called theranostic agents—they can both find cancer cells and deliver radiation to kill them. The trial will first check if the drug reaches the brain tumor, then measure how well it shrinks the cancer. About 10 adults with HER2-positive breast cancer and active brain metastases will take part.
