New asthma drug tezspire put to the test in Long-Term safety study
NCT ID NCT05729711
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tracks 416 people with severe asthma that isn't controlled by standard treatments. All participants receive Tezspire injections and are monitored for side effects, including serious allergic reactions, infections, and heart problems. The goal is to see how safe and effective the drug is over long-term use in real-world conditions.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Tezspire (tezepelumab) injection
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could confirm that Tezspire is safe and effective for long-term use in people with severe asthma that other treatments can't control.
What could go wrong
This is an observational follow-up study, not a new treatment trial. It may reveal unexpected side effects or show that the drug works less well over time. Results may not apply to all asthma patients.
