Texts vs. temptation: can a simple message help thousands kick the habit?
NCT ID NCT07102290
Summary
This study tested if sending text messages could help more people sign up for free services to quit smoking. Over 4,000 Medicaid patients who smoked and hadn't gotten recent help were sent texts offering either free coaching or free nicotine patches. Researchers wanted to see which message was more effective at getting people to call the quitline for support.
