Anxiety help via text? study tests new approach for young adults

NCT ID NCT06774573

Summary

This study tested whether a text-message version of cognitive behavioral therapy could help reduce anxiety symptoms in young adults. Researchers enrolled 100 participants aged 18-25 with elevated anxiety and randomly assigned them to either receive the 8-week text therapy program or wait for treatment. The goal was to see if convenient, text-based counseling could effectively lower anxiety levels compared to no immediate intervention.
