Can a simple text stop a trip back to the hospital?
NCT ID NCT04140344
Summary
This study is testing whether sending daily text messages with care tips is better than giving paper handouts to help patients recover after lower back fusion surgery. It will involve 224 adults having surgery at Duke University Hospital. The main goal is to see if the text messages can reduce the number of patients who need to return to the hospital within 30 days after going home.
