Texting moms their breast milk 'Salt' levels could boost milk supply for fragile babies

NCT ID NCT04097860

Summary

This study tested if sending personalized text messages could help mothers of critically ill newborns in intensive care pump breast milk more often and produce more of it. Researchers sent some moms text messages with their personal breast milk sodium level (a sign of pumping frequency) along with encouragement, while others got only general tips. The goal was to see if this approach was practical and showed enough promise to test in a larger future study.
