Can a simple text stop a child from wasting away?
NCT ID NCT06842732
Summary
This study is testing if a simple text-message system can help prevent malnutrition in young children exposed to HIV in Kenya. Caregivers receive weekly texts with feeding advice and are prompted to measure their child's arm to check for early signs of wasting. Researchers will compare 600 caregiver-child pairs using the text system to those receiving standard clinic care to see if it leads to fewer cases of malnutrition and faster recovery.
