Hopkins tests old antibiotic for lingering lyme misery

NCT ID NCT05219929

Summary

This study is testing if a 3-month course of the antibiotic tetracycline is tolerable and can help reduce symptoms like severe fatigue in people with Post-Treatment Lyme Disease (PTLD). Researchers are comparing the drug to a placebo in 60 participants to see if it eases symptoms and improves daily function. The goal is to see if this common antibiotic, known for its anti-inflammatory effects, can provide relief where standard Lyme treatments have ended.
