Heart rhythm breakthrough? nausea pill shows promise for common heart condition
NCT ID NCT05844501
Summary
This study is testing if ondansetron, a drug commonly used to prevent nausea, can help control atrial fibrillation (Afib), a dangerous irregular heartbeat. Researchers will give 80 people scheduled for a heart procedure either ondansetron or a placebo pill for 28 days to see if it reduces the time they spend in Afib and slows their heart rate. The goal is to find a safer, more effective medication option for this common condition.
