First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests two new strategies for people with severe alcoholic hepatitis: giving the steroid prednisolone for longer than usual, or adding an antioxidant called N-acetylcysteine. The goal is to see if these approaches help more patients survive and recover liver function by 90 days. About 477 adults with severe liver inflammation will take part.
