Doctors test patients to pinpoint hidden surgery allergies

NCT ID NCT06065137

Summary

This study aimed to improve the safety of future surgeries for people who had a serious allergic reaction during a past operation. Researchers tested 50 adult patients with a history of these reactions by carefully giving them small, controlled doses of common anesthesia drugs to see which one caused the problem. The goal was to create a better testing method so doctors can confidently avoid the culprit drug and safely use alternatives for the patient's next surgery.
