New hope for untreated spinal disease? MS drug enters human trial

NCT ID NCT04799288

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called teriflunomide, already used for multiple sclerosis, can help people with HAM/TSP—a rare, progressive disease that causes leg weakness and has no current treatment. About 24 adults with HAM/TSP will take the drug daily for 9 months. Researchers will check if it's safe, how the body's immune system responds, and if it helps control the disease.
