New drug combo aims to boost platelet counts in immune disorder
NCT ID NCT07065968
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 36 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding teriflunomide to high-dose dexamethasone works better than dexamethasone alone for adults newly diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition where the immune system destroys platelets, causing bleeding. About 132 participants will receive either the combination or standard treatment, and researchers will track platelet counts and bleeding over 8 weeks. The goal is to find a more effective first-line option to control the disease.
