Could a simple electrical device ease labor pain without drugs?

NCT ID NCT07494539

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a small device called TENS, which sends mild electrical pulses to the skin, can help manage pain when labor is started artificially. About 132 pregnant women will either get TENS plus usual care or usual care alone. The goal is to see if TENS reduces the need for an epidural or delays when it's used.
