Zap your pain? study tests electrical stimulation for surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07319754

Summary

This study is testing if a non-drug treatment called TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) can help reduce pain and improve sleep for people recovering from hernia surgery. 80 adults having the surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or standard care plus TENS. Researchers will compare pain levels and sleep quality between the two groups to see if the TENS treatment is helpful and safe.
