Zap your pain? electrical stimulation tested for fibromyalgia relief

NCT ID NCT04683042

Summary

This study tested whether adding a TENS unit—a small device that delivers mild electrical pulses through the skin—to standard physical therapy helps reduce pain caused by movement in people with fibromyalgia. It involved 459 adults with a fibromyalgia diagnosis who were already referred for physical therapy. Researchers compared outcomes over six months between patients who received TENS with their therapy and those who received therapy alone.
