Zap the pain? tiny mouth gadget aims to ease braces discomfort

NCT ID NCT06573996

Summary

This study is testing if a small electrical device placed in the mouth can reduce the pain people feel after getting braces tightened. Up to 150 teens and adults getting routine orthodontic treatment will try the device on one side of their mouth and a fake, non-working version on the other side to see which works better. Researchers will track their pain levels over three days to find out if this non-drug method provides relief.
