New drug combo tested to tame blood sugar in diabetes

NCT ID NCT02924064

Summary

This study tested whether adding a new drug called teneligliptin to the common diabetes medication metformin could better control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It involved 247 Chinese participants whose diabetes was not well-controlled on metformin alone. The goal was to see if the two-drug combination was safe and more effective at lowering long-term blood sugar levels over 24 weeks.
