New diabetes pill tested for blood sugar control

NCT ID NCT00628212

Summary

This study tested a new diabetes medication called Teneligliptin (MP-513) to see if it safely lowers blood sugar levels in Japanese adults with type 2 diabetes. Over 300 participants took either the drug or a placebo pill daily for 12 weeks. The main goal was to measure changes in a key blood sugar marker (HbA1c) and gather safety data to help plan a larger, final-stage trial.
