Wake-Up stroke hope: old CT scans may guide new treatment

NCT ID NCT07475949

First seen Mar 25, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether the clot-busting drug tenecteplase can help people who wake up with stroke symptoms but don't know when the stroke started. About 352 adults with moderate to severe stroke will receive either tenecteplase or standard care after a non-contrast CT scan. The goal is to see if the drug improves recovery at 90 days without increasing risks.
