Sticker thermometer put to the test in hospital ICU

NCT ID NCT03264833

Summary

This study tested how well a wearable, sticker-like thermometer (TempTraq) measures body temperature compared to the standard method (a catheter placed near the heart) in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Researchers enrolled 60 adults with the standard catheter already in place to see if the wearable device gave accurate and consistent readings when patients had low, normal, or high temperatures. The goal was to see if this more comfortable, non-invasive device could be a reliable alternative for continuous monitoring.
