First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested a small, wearable patch called TempShield that sticks to the chest and continuously monitors body temperature in children ages 1 to 4 in the emergency room. Researchers wanted to see if the patch could detect fevers earlier than standard thermometers. 72 children took part, and the patch was worn for up to 7 hours. The goal was to learn whether this device could help doctors and nurses spot fevers sooner and improve care.
