Temporary stent tested to save limbs from amputation

Summary
This study tested a new, temporary stent device designed to open severely blocked arteries below the knee in patients with advanced peripheral artery disease. The goal was to improve blood flow to relieve pain, heal wounds, and prevent amputations. Researchers followed 130 patients to see if the device was safe and effective at keeping the arteries open without causing serious complications.
