Virtual therapy aims to mend family bonds for teens in foster care

NCT ID NCT04488523

Summary

This study tested whether a family therapy program could be delivered effectively through video calls (telehealth) to help teens in foster care and their birth parents or caregivers. Researchers adapted an existing program to improve how families communicate and manage difficult emotions. They worked with 93 youth and caregivers to see if the online version was practical, acceptable, and showed early signs of helping.
