Home cholesterol checks beat standard care in small trial
NCT ID NCT01212159
First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested whether people with high cholesterol who check their own levels at home and get phone support can lower their LDL more than those getting standard care. 70 adults with LDL over 130 mg/dL took part. The idea was that frequent self-testing would help them stick to their medication and reach their cholesterol goals.
